Adding resources

An easy guide to adding resources to ALO.

Anyone can use the resources in ALO but if you want to share some of your own resources with others you will need to register on the site.

  1. Complete the registration form to become a member of the site.
  2. Once you are registered, you will be able sign in and gain access to the upload form.

What to consider when adding a resource

  1. Your are responsible for ensuring that what your are contributing is your own work. Make sure there are no copyright issues with the materials you are contributing.
  2. Remember that others looking at your resource will want some information about how you have used the resource and what the learning objectives are. Think about how you can best describe your resource.
  3. We can help you improve the look and feel of your resource if necessary.

The Upload Form

The upload form looks like this.

  1. Choose a title that describes clearly what the resource is.
  2. In the description box, give enough information to set the context for the resource. Think about who the resource is aimed at, what the intended outcomes are, what literacy or numeracy learning is being supported, and what level of knowledge is needed to use the resource.
  3. Think carefully about keywords as these words help the search engine on the site to find your resource. First, if your were looking for this resource, what words might you use to search for it? Then try to think of other words people might try.
  4. For resource type and topic, you can tick as many boxes as are relevant.

Please note that Learning Connections has set up a contribution group who will support contributors as they organise their materials for inclusion on the site. If you contribute, this group will acknowledge receipt of the resource and will either let you know when the resource has been uploaded to the site, or you will contact you to ask you more information about your resource.

We look forward to receiving your contributions.
